Finding Employment

General Requirements

  • PPS Number: Personal Public Service (PPS) Number is a unique identification number assigned to individuals in Ireland. You can find out how to require it and what you need to do so on Gov.ie. We strongly advise you to require one as soon as you arrive in Ireland, as while you are working without a PPS Number, you will be liable to emergency tax, which corresponds to 52% of your wage. However, once you have received the PPS Number, you will be refunded on your next monthly salary.

  • Bank accountin most cases, employers will require an Irish Bank account for salary payments. Up until you open your bank account, you will be paid through checks. For convenience reasons, we would advise you to open an account with an Irish Bank as soon as you arrive in the country.

  • English ProficiencyEnglish proficiency is typically required to work in Ireland. Some employers may even request evidence of English language proficiency, such as certificates from recognized language proficiency tests or significant proof of study of the English language. Check our page English Course to discover more about this.

  • Irish SIM: An Irish SIM will make you stand out among many candidates. As Relo2 team, we advise you to get an eSim thruoght Saily. With Saily you can get an Irish eSim which comes with different plans for data coverage. Check the official page of Saily for more information.
