College of Further
Education
Colleges of Further Education (CFE) are educational institutions that provide a range of post-secondary education and training programs beyond the secondary level, such as Post Leaving Certificate (PLC) courses, Traineeships and Apprenticeships .

Indeed, Post Leaving Certificate (PLC) course refers to a continuing education and training program that students can undertake after completing the Leaving Certificate (High School Diploma). PLC courses are designed to provide practical skills and knowledge in specific areas and prepare students for employment or further training. PLC courses are usually full-time and 1-year-long courses. They are offered at different levels, mostly at Levels 5 and 6 of the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ). PLC courses can indeed be a way to learn a profession and directly enter the workforce.
